Green Team

Members of the Fishkill Creek Watershed Committee completed a large-scale stream bank seedling planting Earth Day weekend as part of an ongoing effort to protect and restore the creek. The red osier, silky dogwood, streamco willow and buttonbush seedlings will help shade the water, prevent erosion, and provide a wildlife habitat. Fishkill Creek Watershed Committee chairman Rick Oestrike and East Fishkill resident Keith Coultis are pictured planting a seedling in Coultis' backyard off Creek Bend Road.

Residents with homes near the stream bank of the Fishkill Creek or one of its tributaries who would like seedlings to plant in the future may contact [FishkillCreekWatershed.org].
