From Tom Isenhour who writes...
Never saw [the first photo above] of the Friday night performance
but I can tell you that is Lamar Grier taking his banjo break on "Rawhide"
and then in this photo taken by the same photographer at the same time,
Monroe steps up for his power pose break to finish out "Rawhide".
As Phil Zimmerman said, it was a life changing experience.
After Roanoke, 1965 and 1966 you knew who the real Daddy of Bluegrass was.
