During the stream field trip, students measure the cross section profile and velocity of the creek, they examine stream bottom particle sizes, and conduct a basic physical survey, which includes looking for signs of human impact. Students complete all data sheets and graphs, calculate discharge, and work in small groups to prepare and present poster presentations.
