A typical regents' earth science curriculum includes topo map exercises. This program simply adapts those same types of exercises to maps that make up the Fishkill Creek Watershed so students become acquainted with the watersheds' geography. Students also examine aerial photos of their stream site and of the entire watershed, as well as a digital elevation model map (a computer generated three dimensional map showing topography) of the whole watershed.
