The methods used by the students in this lesson come from Hudson Basin River Watch's Guidance Document, which was developed in conjunction with NYSDEC as a way to provide protocols that volunteers can use to gather data that the DEC can use for their management efforts. Thus students in the program have the potential to create useful data.
