In 1972, Jim Davis and I were flying back from Miami to NY in Jim's Cessna 172 and passed over KSC at several thousand feet.
In 1978 I was visiting Jim, who now lived in the area, and was a flight instructor giving a lesson to a gentleman in the gentleman's 172. I rode in the rear. The "student" was a park ranger for the National Seashore, so he knew the area. After the lesson was over, we got clearance from Patrick AFB and flew over the entire Space Center as low as 500 feet while getting a tour lecture from the ranger!
