Why is
different from all the other at-grade intersections in question?
It is the only one that is a
SHORTCUT
for interstate trucks to and
from I-84 via State Rt. 52.
Official letters from the
Town, County, and State
each say that they
CAN NOT RESTRICT TRUCKS ON CARPENTER ROAD.
By closing the Carpenter/Taconic median, the State has saved
lives at that intersection.
By building the crossing over the Taconic
at Carpenter, the State will endanger the lives - as well as destroy
the neighborhood character - of all the residents on and near
.
What does the state want to do?
What does the town want to do?
