(Courtesy Gary B. Reid) This is a recording made on the European package tour of 1966 from a broadcast on Danish Radio. A couple who attended the concert taped it off the radio and their son later transferred it to CD-R. The show from the next night on the tour was released in 2007 as a lavish 2xCD box set: American Folk & Country Music Festival (Bear Family BCD-16849 BK). The Copenhangen concert is notable for including the only known version by The Stanley Brothers of Take This Hammer, the prison/railroad song popularised by Lead Belly. It was also the last date on the tour to include Chick Stripling, who had to be helped off stage when he finally was too drunk to play anymore. Thanks to Steen Sørensen for preserving this show.
